Village What? Village Who?

Villager’z Paradise was created from a selfish place. For years, I have thought about developing a space where I can express freely, in a way that is shareable for public consumption. Something of an online portfolio: where a blog and a vlog meet playlists and reviews. I think I do too much, and I want a place to reflect and share some thoughts about it. If you’re reading this, congratulations you’ve found what could be the dumping ground of mad rantings or a brilliant beginning to something beautiful. I certainly hope it’s the latter, but either way, I hope you’ll be along for the ride.

Since it’s early, a lot of what is coming ahead WILL NOT be perfect, and I’m learning too, that it’s okay. If I’ve made a mistake and you have some tips on how to fix it, leave a comment and let me know. I think I’m in a new era of learning and overcoming the perfectionism, and in some ways the fear of failure that has paralyzed me for years.

Although I may be selfishly doing this for myself, I think there is room for more than just me here. I certainly hope to share it with old and new friends, from all walks of life, doing their best to show up. I hope it can be a space where there is room for goodness, joy, compassion, empathy, and, most certainly, hope.

To kick us off, accept this offering: Linked below is the song There’s Hope by the incredible songstress India Arie. This track is a beautiful affirmation of counting our blessings and shifting our mindset to be grateful for what is instead of lamenting on what isn’t. I also think it perfectly encapsulates the vision for my life and, in some ways, of this platform. Although Villager’z Paradise can do only so much, I hope you give the song a listen and hear about her encounter with a man in Brazil.

Note: The entire album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life and Relationship, is a must-listen.

Thanks for reading (and listening).
Until the next one,
Zilpa – Villager 001
